The World Is My Stage -- Treating Children and Adolescents with Autism

This course is designed to strengthen mental health service providers' skills in delivering treatment to children, parents and families. This training centers on learning about the various needs and issues of children diagnosed with Autism.

  • The goal of the training is to learn how to assist parents and childcare providers in increasing their knowledge base about the importance of children with Autism and the strengthening of existing relationships.
  • Children diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder exhibit difficulty with socialization. Most often, the areas in which many staff and parents struggle is in building, maintaining and generalizing social skills.
  • The purpose of this training is to train participants on one-to-one interventions that have been effective in developing social skills. The concepts in this training are ideal for TSS and MT/BSCs and can be generalized for any therapist looking to gain skills in these areas.
  • This course qualifies for BACB Credits.
  • PCS provides light refreshments at all trainings. Lunch is not provided. Please come prepared with a packed lunch as a brief, working lunch break will be offered.
  • By attending a PCS training, you are giving PCS permission to videotape you and any discussion you participate in for video training purposes.

  • People who attend PCS trainings and seminars in their entirety may receive CE credits for psychologists/LPC/ LSW/LCSW/ LMFT or general training credits, including CAC/DDAP. For other licenses, please consult with your respective licensing board.
    • Following each seminar, participants who have attended the seminar in its entirety will receive a PCS Training Feedback form via email.
    • After receipt of the completed form, PCS will issue a certificate via email indicating the CE credits that have been obtained.
