Cognitive Processing Therapy Day 1

Trainer

Kim Ernest, PhD, LPC (Read Bio)

Description

We are excited to offer this new course.  Participants are required to register and attend BOTH days (Thursday and Friday), as they build on each other.  After attending both days, there is a CPT certification option that is available to a limited number of selected people.  If interested in that certification process (which involves numerous consultation group meetings throughout the year), please contact Kim Ernest.

This training intensive will serve as a complete introductory to the provision of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) which is an evidence-based approach to the treatment of PTSD and trauma with historically high success rates.  This training will provide an in depth introduction to trauma assessment and skills associated with "pre-therapy" for clients with trauma histories which are impacting daily functioning.  This training will provide both the theoretical background as well as practical applications of a CPT protocol.  Finally, the training will explore stress and burnout prevention for clinicians working with those with trauma histories.

  • By attending a PCS training, you are giving PCS permission to videotape you and any discussion you participate in for video training purposes.
