This engaging workshop provides therapists with a comprehensive introduction to Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), highlighting its distinctive elements and equipping participants with the essential skills to effectively practice this therapeutic approach. Participants will explore the therapeutic value of play and its role in fostering emotional growth and healing in children. The workshop delves into the foundational principles of CCPT as pioneered by Virginia Axline, offering practical guidance on mastering the core skills of structuring, empathic responding, imaginative role play, and limit setting. Additionally, the session emphasizes the importance of parental involvement in the CCPT process and provides insights into recognizing and working with common play therapy themes. Designed for both new and experienced therapists, this workshop offers valuable tools and knowledge to enhance their practice and support children in a meaningful way.
