Dr. Kimberly Ernest, PhD, LPC (Read Bio)
Children and adolescents often bring big emotions into the school setting, including anxiety, frustration, sadness, irritability, shutdown, avoidance, and behavioral escalation. This one-hour lunch and learn will help mental health professionals understand emotional dysregulation in school-aged youth and explore practical strategies for supporting students in real time. Participants will learn how to look beyond surface-level behavior, identify common triggers and patterns, and use developmentally appropriate regulation tools that can be applied in school, outpatient, and family-based settings.
