Training Description
The role of a clinical supervisor is a challenging task. The supervisor holds the goal of helping develop a clinician that can function autonomously as well as the goal of quality care for the clients and families. In order to meet both goals, a supervisor must avoid stepping in too quickly to make decisions and instead co-discover and collaborate with the supervisee to help the supervisee develop and learn their own ethical decision-making model while still keeping clients safe. This training with explore the difference between a supervisor relationship that breeds dependency and one that promotes learning the skills so the supervisor can grow in their own ability to make choices. Ethical-decision making models will be discussed and the training will list and demonstrate interventions supervisors will use to produce supervisees capable of making ethical decisions in their clinical practice.
Trainer Bio
Miranda Stickler is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, as well as an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. She is currently serving as a Clinical Consultant with Dauphin County Family Based and is actively involved on the panel for Pennsylvania Clinical Training Institute - Family Based Training Center. Miranda's previous work experience in the field includes providing services as a family-based therapist, helping children and adolescents with behavior modification, and outpatient therapy with individuals, couples, and families with both mental health and substance abuse concerns. Specific areas of interest for Miranda include: attachment, relational issues, grief and loss, play therapy, identity and self-esteem, postpartum mental health, and trauma.

Cancellations: PCS reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any training at any time (in which case you will have the option to receive a full refund or attend on the rescheduled date).
Refunds: Participants may cancel their registration(s) at any time prior to the training date. A 10% cancellation fee will be deducted from the original registration fee, and the remainder will be refunded. No refund will be provided if the cancellation occurs within two weeks of the training date.
- PCS is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. PCS maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
- People who attend PCS trainings in their entirety may receive CE credits for psychologists/LPC/ LSW/LCSW/ LMFT or general training credits, including CAC/DDAP. For other licenses, please consult with your respective licensing board.
- Following each training, participants who have attended the training in its entirety will receive a PCS Training Feedback form via email.
- After receipt of the completed form, PCS will issue a certificate via email indicating the CE credits that have been obtained.
