Tara Byers, EdD, LPC, ACS (Read Bio)
This Zoom course is designed to introduce mental health service providers to an alternative way of viewing problem behaviors/mental health symptoms in children and adults (special focus on parenting and marital/couple interactions). The training centers on learning core concepts of Structural Family Therapy (SFT) and utilizing those concepts to redefine an individual client's "symptoms” such that their context is taken into account. The goal of this training is to expand how mental health professionals conceptualize both problems and potential solutions. Video examples will be used to support assessment from a structural/systemic lens and to apply SFT interventions to foster movement within a family system, in order to create long-lasting change.
