This course is designed for behavioral health providers who have a basic understanding of Motivational Interviewing. A brief overview of MI will be presented at the beginning to shape the direction of the rest of the course material. This course then provides a more in-depth explanation of the techniques and strategies used in motivational interviewing, with significant opportunities for participants to practice and refine their MI skills and improve their capacity to motivate change with their clients.
*Please note this course does not count for DDAP's "Motivational Interviewing: Advancing the Practice" required coursework. Participants should have already taken Motivational Interviewing: Overview (PCS employees can access this training on home study) or guests will need to have taken a previous motivational interviewing course.*
